Door

Something as minor as a new front door sure makes a world of difference, at least in my opinion.

Out with the old (can you believe how ugly? Check out that 60s glass).

And in with the new.

Except...we don't know what to do with it. It's wood-grain fiberglass, so we can paint OR stain it. I did some photoshopping because my top colors, if we paint, are black and red. Or, we can stain it and it will look like a real wood door. We can also scrap all those ideas and do something wild and crazy.

My creativity has been used up and I don't know which way to go. Thoughts?
P.S. The trim will be painted white. Sorry for my shoddy photoshopping. You get the idea though.

What -- you didn't consider purple?? All right, all right. . . red.

I actually like the white door! Minus 60's look of it. I guess I'd have to see the rest of the house to say which color I like the best...

I guess we could also paint it white, but I hate "dirty" white front doors (which they always seem to be). Spencer's kinda nixed that color...

I LOVE the black. That is my vote!!!

I think the black looks classy.

Black looks better with the brick.

Mom and I don't agree. Made it tough when we remodeled. Twice. We learned to compromise.

I personally really like the contrast of the black door with the red brick. And, I'm with you on the white...we had a white door at our last house--I was forever cleaning it. And, even with all my cleaning it never really got "clean" in my opinion...

We're big black door people. We are actually about to paint our french doors in the back black. It's simple and classy. Love your new door. It's so fun to remodel! Good luck you guys!

I'm a sucker for a good red door... but I love the way the black looks with your brick. (I agree, it's amazing what a little change does to the whole look of your house!)

I have no eye for design, so take my vote with a grain of salt... but I think the black is my favorite. Congrats on the latest home improvement. You guys are cruising on that house! :)

Black black black!

Also, you're a monster with photoshop (at least compared to some people (me))

Personally, I LOVE wood doors, so my vote is just to stain it...BUT I've already seen pictures of what you've done to the inside of your house, so I have no doubt that whatever you choose, the door will look really good!

I would vote for the black. It looks classy and looks better with your brick. We had a red door once and if it fades in the sun, it dosen't look so good anymore.

I vote for black-it looks great

I always like a nice wood grain myself...and the brown might go really well with the colors of your house (of what I see in the picture.) But black is always the favorite - especially with red brick.

oh, our door really needs a makeover! It's busy metal, so every wreath or decoration I put on it just makes it look more busy.

I'd go with the black.

I love front doors...I also love red, so that is my pick. Great update on the door--nice work!

We have had a black door for the past eleven years. It is easy to keep clean. We recently painted the same door red. I like the red, but I miss the black.

The contrast of the black against the red brick is very nice.

I vote black.

I love the old door, but I'm sure I'd worry about someone breaking in through the glass.

Just so you have my two cents. My vote is for black. Black always adds class.

I like the red, but I actually think the black would be nice against the red bricks.
